The noise that people claim to be bothering them is overblown. I saw all the reviews about how loud it was but I decided to order it anyway. You can barely hear the clock over the background noise of "life", and specifically the crickets that live in my area. It looks great, I've had no problems with it so far, and it takes a place of honor next to me headboard and I still have no trouble sleeping with it right next to my head. The only reason it got 4/5 stars is because the noise does exist, despite the fact that it's almost negligible.

I do recommend this clock. It is not that loud. My biggest problem is that at about 58 minutes it switches to the next hours. So if I look over at the clock at 8:58 pm it appears as 9:58 pm. Not a huge deal where I have it located, but if I relied on it for a bedroom clock it could cause real anxiety some drowsy mornings. I bought this in 2013 and in 2016 the original battery is still chugging along.

The look of this, the retroness of it, and all the mechanical things of this makes a great clock. HOWEVER, this thing is SO loud!I had to stick this somewhere far away from anywhere I sit, or sleep.It's not the ticking, but it's the constant, irregular plastic gears rolling (not ticking, but rolling) sound that usually will drive anybody crazy.Also, whenever it gets to 53 minutes or so, it flips the hour time to the next hour, which really confused me for a while, until I figured out that it was happening. I'm pretty sure there is a way to control this. There are some mechanical stop element rod on hour flip side that I'm sure there is a way to adjust this. I just don't know how.I put this on my kitchen and it looks amazing. So, if this thing was quiet, I'm pretty sure they can charge twice as much, and I would probably pay more for it. It's really an awesome way to show the time. Very unique and adds interest to wherever you put it.EDIT: I'm adding one more star, because:1. my cat knocked this down to a hard marble floor and all of the pieces with numbers came off. I thought that was it, but everything works still, and it was easy to put the numbers back on.2. I finally figured out what that little piece of metal hook was. That hook is there to hold the hour flip, so it synchronize with the minute flips. Now the hours don't flip until after 59 minutes.However, it's still loud. It's not ticking, it's not clicking, but it's this constant, uncoordinated irritable sound.It's not a very pleasing sound.

It's a cool clock, and it looks the same as the pictures would indicate. It doesn't feel as substantial as I would've expected, and looks kind of chintzy/cheap up close.

Reminds me of the flip clocks I grew up with. It's a little larger than I expected but the size works great for readability. Does make a bit of a hum noise, so not great for a bedroom.

is a nice product, but the only think i dont like is the D battery that i have to use in order to work, besides that the product work pretty well. the clock produce a small sound that you can only hear when everything is in silence, like in the morning, but i have it next to me before i sleep and it does not bother at all. the time is exact so i dont have a problem with the hour.
